Senior Manager Vehicle Testing And Homologation

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Head – Vehicle Testing & Homologation to lead testing, validation, reliability, and regulatory homologation for our electric motorcycle and scooter portfolio. The role manages the complete process from prototype through validation, durability, homologation, and SOP, ensuring compliance with applicable safety, performance, and regulatory requirements. Mandatory hands-on experience in EV two-wheeler testing and homologation, along with strong knowledge of Indian automotive/EV regulations and certification processes, is required.

The incumbent will develop and execute overall testing and validation strategies for EV motorcycles and scooters, define test plans and acceptance criteria, and lead vehicle-level testing covering performance, range, acceleration, gradeability, braking, handling, suspension, NVH, thermal performance, charging, and water/dust protection. They will also own complete battery, BMS, motor, controller, and charger validation — covering performance, thermal behavior, electrical safety, protection functions, and durability — as well as testing of electronic systems including VCU, MCU, DC-DC, displays, telematics, and sensors, including EMC/EMI and diagnostic validation.

A critical accountability is ownership of the end-to-end homologation and type-approval process for new models and variants, including coordination with approved testing agencies and certification laboratories, ensuring AIS/CMVR/EV regulatory compliance, monitoring regulatory changes, and supporting homologation for engineering changes and new variants. The role also requires active participation in NPD from concept stage, reviewing design changes for validation/homologation impact, and ensuring prototype and pilot vehicles are test-ready for SOP.

The Head will build and lead multi-functional teams spanning Vehicle Testing & Validation, Battery/Powertrain Testing, Electrical & Electronics Testing, Durability & Reliability, Homologation & Regulatory Affairs, and Test Facilities & Instrumentation. Key performance indicators include homologation approval timelines, first-time certification success rates, test failure rates, battery and powertrain validation milestones, regulatory compliance, and SOP readiness.
